The neighborhood is quiet...

So last weekend I braved Six Flags with the kids for the first time. They had a blast and there was nothing they wouldn't ride. Me, on the other hand, rode almost nothing. We went with some friends and I was happy to stay with the kid who decided at the last minute not to ride. It gave me an excuse not to ride too but the funny thing was it was never my kid! We had a good time and are headed back on Monday for Labor Day! They are ecstatic. Hunter is fearless and Brandon rode everything but says he won't ride the upside down ones again. They are braver than me and thank God for friends who will ride with them!

Finally all the neighborhood kids have gone back to school and the 'hood is quiet. The boys are relaxing and settling back into a routine of ... fighting! Really they are just getting used to the quiet of the other kids at school. It is very nice. We have the girls around and they play their make-believe games and ride bikes and get along.

I have really gotten into reading in my "down time" which is usually few and far between but this week I MADE time. In the last few weeks I have read all of Judy Blume's adult novels and some Danielle Steele and my friend, Amy got me a copy of "Redeeming Love" by Francine Rivers. This book is the best book I have read in a REALLY long time. It was exceptional! I loved it and got so into it that I ended up having a whole afternoon where I finished the last 100 pages because I couldn't stop. I have joked several times that I wish I wasn't done and could still bury my nose in it it is that good!

Other than that not much new here... Business is booming and we are trying to keep our heads above water... Occasionally that's a nice feeling...
