Book 2

So once Kim's mother-in-law saw the book she wanted one for her daughter who turned 50 yesterday. I only had a few days to pull it together but I was really happy with how it turned out. I wrote her a fairytale of looking back on her life and seeing accomplishments instead of years and successes in a job well done instead of failures. They said she really liked it. Here is her book...

She made it this far but the number’s a shock,
For 50 is old, let’s turn back the clock,
But if she did, she knew that she’d lose,
Her memories and successes, it’s so hard to choose.

So this is her story, but it’s not the end,
It’s a bit of real life and a bit of pretend,
But reminds her of all of the good things she’s done,
And how much she’s loved by her family, a ton!

It all started when she was a girl,
Her sweet baby brother became her whole world,
She was his little mama, good practice for life,
For by 19, she was a mother and wife.

Christopher was her joy and a sight to behold,
She loved this sweet angel, more precious than gold,
Her life changed forever on this special day,
And no one could ever take that away.

She loved him so dearly but he started to grow,
From baby to boy, the progress was slow,
She missed her baby and he needed a friend,
Someone to play with and pick on to no end.

So Amanda came along and was just what they needed,
A cute little girl, her hopes she exceeded.
For girls are different than boys all around,
But the love is the same, truly profound.

She thought for awhile she was done with just two,
But a few years later she knew that wasn’t true.
Jarrett arrived in the usual way,
Another amazing and wonderful day.

With each child her heart seemed to grow,
She couldn’t believe it but it really was so,
For she loved each one with all that she had,
But with two boys and one girl she started to feel bad.

The numbers weren’t even, it didn’t seem fair,
Another girl she needed so she sent up a prayer,
And got what she asked for, sent straight from above,
And Maegan filled her heart with even more love.

This time she thought for sure she was done,
With four kids in all, she could stand no more fun,
Her dreams had come true with two girls and two boys,
And the house was so full it could hold no more toys.

She raised the kids right, with lots of love,
She cherished them all as gifts from above,
But as kids do, they started to leave,
To their mama they could no longer cleave.

But the plus side to this is the family grew,
With grandkids and love like she never knew,
The kids were successful, she’d done something right,
They’d become shining stars whose light shone so bright.

So many memorable days of pure bliss,
So many things that she surely will miss,
But what she feels in her heart is sheer pride,
And love for these kids that can’t be denied.

These memories are worth every wrinkle and year,
This family is something she’ll always hold dear,
They will always have a place in her heart,
And that she has know from the very start.

She’s turning 50 but has accomplished so much,
She’s survived four kids and hasn’t lost touch,
Her heart grew bigger as each kid came along,
And just might explode from these grandkids before long.

Some would say it’s “Over the Hill”,
But “Aged to Perfection” fits the bill,
For its easier to go down the other side,
So sit back, relax and enjoy the ride.
